Daniel DeSaussure (1735-1798)
Daniel DeSaussure was a South Carolina merchant, first in Beaufort and later in Charleston. He was captured by the British during the Revolution, and held prisoner at St. Augustine. Following the war, he served for several years as a member of the South Carolina Senate.
