Dayton, Judge A. G. (1857-1920)

Possibly Alston Gordon Dayton. A native of West Virginia, Dayton was a prosecuting attorney there until he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1895. He served in Congress until his appointment in 1905 as a U.S. judge for the Northern District of West Virginia. On February 14, 1916, Judge A. G. Dayton of the Criminal Branch of the U.S. District Court replaced Judge Henry D. Clayton as the judge presiding over The Woman Rebel trial.
