Graham, Samuel Jordan (1859-1951)

Lawyer and judge. Married Sue Finney Neal (1899-1919), one daughter; Leila H. B. Smith (1934); Norma Purcell (1938). Graham was appointed Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. by President Woodrow Wilson in 1913. In this capacity, he responded to the many letters written to the federal government on behalf of Sanger's Woman Rebel trial. In 1919, Graham left the Attorney General's office to serve as a judge in the U.S. Court of Claims. He stayed on the bench until his retirement in 1930.
