The Papers of General Nathanael Greene

Colonel Lewis Morris, Jr. To Colonel Robert Rowan.

NG has been informed that state and Continental staff officers "and even the inhabitants" are having boots and shoes made for themselves in the "public factories at Cross Creek." He wants this "abuse" ended. "The army is in a most suffering condition for the want of shoes," and "untill they are supplied every other business and consideration ought to give place."
