Inclosed I send your Excellency copies of several letters that passed between Lord Cornwallis, Genl Gates and myself No l, 2, & 3., with their enclosures No 4[,] 5, and 6.
Lord Cornwallis seems to be desirous of having his authentic order published. Congress will judge how far his Lordship's request may be complied with.
On the 20th Inst. I recieved your Excellency's letter of the 6th of Decembr and the 2d of January with the enclosed acts of Congress. I have the honor to be
