I arrived here last evening sent a number of prisoners, that were her to join the main body. About four thousand cwt of salted pork & beacon is promised me, corn Meal equivalent, Forage &c.
I am much indisposed with pains &c. And to add to misfortunes, am violently attack'd with the piles so that I can scarcely set on my horse. This is the first time I ever experienced this disorder, & from the Idea I had of it sincerely prayed I might never Know what it was. When I get every thing in as good a train as I can respecting provision etc., shall move in slowly into some safe {retreat} & try {to} recover. Colo Buford is lef upon the Lower road {to} Hilborough not able to go farther. I am sincerely sir
